Restriction of rail traffic

We want to inform you about the current situation and effects.

 

Important updates

  • On the alternative route section Vienna – St. Pölten, the availability of planned routes has been increased from 75 % to 85 %, 15 % of the planned routes still have to be laid out by the railway companies.
  • The alternative route section include the inner western line (old line) and the route via Herzogenburg.
  • The inner western line will be open to 2 tracks again from 10.10.2024, with passenger traffic having priority here.
  • The line route with limited train length (580 meters) and weight (1.360 tons) via Phyrn/Schober/Semmering will also still be used.
  • The new western line route (high-performance route) will be open to traffic again from 15.12.2024.
  • We will inform you as soon as possible with a separate newsletter about the end of the temporary surcharge from/to Vienna of EUR 25,–/TEU.
  • We will continue to keep you informed about the further developments.
